Meet Deacon, he is a mixed breed dog with a great personality… uh, dog-anality. Deacon is a neutered male coming in at about 45 lbs of pure love. He's just a chill guy with a splash of zoomies! Deacon's resume is spectacular. He has the work experience, the passion, and the love. I mean, how can you turn down a boy this good?

- House trained
- Crate trained
- Leash trained
- Has worked with multiple trainers
- A true lover boy: The perfect partner and good with kids
- A squeaky toy enthusiast:

Deacon takes pride in his squeaky toys. No squeak too big, no squeak to small. Squeaky toys, he loves them all!

The training he received comes with lifetime training touch-ups (adoption location dependent). Once he has settled in, the trainer will provide you with training sessions to help acclimate him to his new home. They also provide group training sessions most Saturdays at local parks. Pretty sweet deal, right?!

Deacon was bounced around a bit so he’s learned to love and trust again. Due to that, he can be slow to warm up, but once you are his person, he desires nothing more than to be by your side as your furry companion. Deacon is just a boy navigating this real world, overcoming everyday challenges.

- Deacon will thrive in an only dog household
- Loves cats: He enjoys a little Tom & Jerry like playtime
- A fenced yard will allow Deacon to truly unleash his Olympic gold medal jumps
- Needs someone who is patient, allowing him slow introductions with new people, places, and things

Hi. I'm Spenser.

I have a question.

Have you ever chugged three Red Bulls, listened to motivational speeches at double speed, and then decided today was the perfect day to run a marathon?

Because that's basically my personality.

I'm a cattle dog mix with enough energy to power a small town. Need a hiking buddy? I'm in. Want to play fetch? Great. Another round of fetch? Obviously. A third round? Why are we even stopping to talk about it?

I wake up every morning ready to seize the day, chase the day, organize the day, and probably herd the day into neat little groups.

Because I'm a busy guy, I prefer to be the ONLY pet in my future home. Other animals just don't appreciate my level of enthusiasm and executive management style.

My dream home includes:
✅ A fully fenced yard where I can safely zoom at maximum velocity.
✅ An active family that likes adventures.
✅ People who understand that "tired cattle dog" is a beautiful thing.
✅ No other pets competing for my spotlight.

When I'm done conquering the world, I'm also happy to soak up affection from my favorite humans. Underneath all this turbocharged energy is a loyal best friend who wants nothing more than to be part of your team.

So if you're looking for a dog that comes with unlimited enthusiasm, built-in entertainment, and enough personality to fill your entire house, I might just be your guy.

Apply to meet me today!

Love,
Spenser

Meet Powerade

Powerade is a 3-year-old yellow lab mix with the softest eyes and the sweetest soul. He might start off a little shy, but give him a minute (and maybe a treat), and suddenly you’ve got a full-blown Velcro dog who thinks your personal space is a myth.

Pow may have had a rough start, judging by some of his scars - but he’s well on his way to a happier life! His luck began to change one cold, December day when he ran into the Food Lion on Alamance Church Rd in Greensboro, seeking warmth and help. GCAS Animal Control picked him up and brought him to the shelter, even allowing him to ride shotgun on the way there! After some time at GCAS he began to show signs of stress and was able to go to foster.

While in foster, we’ve learned that this guy is the total package:
- House trained
- Crate trained
- Walks nicely on leash
- Knows “sit” (especially if snacks are involved)
- Treat and toy motivated (fetch = his love language)

Once he warms up, Powerade is goofy, playful, and so affectionate. He loves a good game of fetch just as much as he loves melting into you for snuggles. He will follow you room to room just to make sure he’s not missing out (can we say FOMO?)

Pow does have a couple of endearing quirks:

Occasionally jumps up when he’s excited, but redirects beautifully into a sit

Can be a little “mouthy” in an affectionate, playful way—he uses his mouth to explore the world, and responds well to gentle correction

Powerade would thrive in a home that understands his sensitive side:

Has done well with kids as young as 3, but due to his size and occasional jumping up would likely do best with older kids or adults

No cats or small animals (that retriever instinct is strong)

Could potentially live with another dog with very slow, thoughtful introductions, but may also be happiest as your one-and-only. He has done well with other dogs in public spaces and frequently “buddy walks” with friends in the neighborhood.

Health note: Powerade previously tested heartworm positive while at the shelter, but now has a negative test!

What makes Powerade truly special is his heart. This boy has been through a lot, but you’d never know it by how deeply he loves. He is trusting, loyal, and endlessly affectionate—a certified good boy who just wants someone to belong to.

If you’re looking for a sweet, snuggly shadow with a playful streak and a heart of gold… Powerade might just be your perfect match.

Meet Dino — Your Next Professional Cuddle Buddy!

If your dream dog is gentle, mellow, affectionate, and happiest curled up beside you, Dino may be your guy! ❤️

Dino is the definition of a gentle soul. His favorite place in the world is right next to his people, soaking up every bit of love and affection he can get. In fact, if you give him the choice between treats, toys, and snuggles… he’s choosing YOU every single time!

Calm and relaxed in the house
️ Crate trained and does great in his crate
Rarely barks
☀️ Loves lounging in sunny spots
Happy to play with toys
❤️ Extremely affectionate and people-oriented
Polite, well-mannered, and eager to please

Dino is dog selective and can be reactive around other dogs, so he will do best as the only pet in the home with someone who is committed to continuing his training and helping him succeed. Because of this, we believe a fenced yard would be ideal for him.

But in the right environment? Dino absolutely THRIVES. He’s not looking for a complicated life — just a person or family who will give him patience, stability, affection, and a whole lot of love. And in return, you’ll have one incredibly loyal cuddle buddy who just wants to be by your side. ❤️

If you think Dino could be your perfect match, please complete an adoption application at lastdaydogs.com.

Dino is ready for his forever home. Could it be yours? ❤️
