Miss Boo Boo is a very friendly and gets along fine with other dogs. She is fostered with a pack of five other dogs. While she does not actively interact with them, she acknowledges their presence and will push them aside so that she can receive pats from her humans. She loves her humans!!

She would do fine as an only dog or one of many. Her foster household does not have cats so we are not sure how she will get along with cats.

Her energy is low, she is such a couch potato! She will lay with her head next to you and her eyes will look longing into yours as you pat her and show her affection. The youngest child she has been around is 10 years old, but her temperament leads me to believe that she would do fine with children over 5 who are dog savvy. .

Boo Boo is very food motivated but does not guard the resource. She does not need to be crated and does fine having free roaming privileges in her foster home. She is used to a fenced yard and would probably do best in a home with a fenced yard.

Boo Boo is an adorable grand lady that is looking for her forever home and would welcome the love and attention she so richly deserves.

EVERY DOG HAS A STORY: Sadly, Boo Boo's owner passed away and she ended up in a rural shelter. Best Friend Pet Adoption stepped in knowing that senior dogs are rarely adopted from shelters and she was at risk. We are now trying to find a good home for her.

Some of the information contained in this biography includes approximations based on our expertise and is not guaranteed. Applicants must live no further than one hour from Cary NC as our dogs must be seen by a BFPA veterinarian for all medical care prior to adoptions being finalized. Our foster guardians deliver dogs to their new homes for adoption trials and we do home visits to finalize all adoptions. We therefore require applicants to live within an hours drive of Cary NC.

Luna – Your Adventure Buddy in the Making!

Luna is a stunning 4-year-old “Pitsky” (Pit Bull/Husky mix) weighing just under 50 lbs—the perfect size for snuggles and adventures. She’s a smart, eager-to-please girl who has already completed an 8-week board-and-train program using positive reinforcement. She’s been continuing her training with her professional trainer, so she’s more than ready to show off her skills in a home of her own.

Luna is house- and crate-trained, knows basic commands like sit, down, and shake, and is highly food- and treat-motivated—making training both fun and rewarding. She loves long walks, hikes, and yard play, and would thrive with daily enrichment activities like nose work or scent games.

Spayed Female Short Hair Torbie

Hello there! They call me Ann Chovy, which is kind of a silly name, but, then, I’m kind of a silly kitten! I’m a little bit torbie, which means I can be opinionated, but not too salty haha! If I need to get you do do something for me (feed me, playtime, cuddles, etc.), I’ll simply win you over with charm.

Like my sweet mama, Moira, I’m curious and affectionate. I’ll greet everyone at the door and will give every “new” person who visits a thorough sniff, just to make sure they’re okay (and then I’ll probably curl up on their lap).

Even though I can be a bit opinionated, underneath all that I am more sugar than spice. I bond hard and love deep. I love little kids (age 6 and older) and am absolutely fine with cat-friendly dogs. If you want to watch me really thrive, there should be another kitty in the home who appreciates my curiosity and affection (or can at least tolerate it haha).

If you’re ready to welcome a kitten who is very generous with her love – and opinions -- let’s get to know each other. Contact Best Friend Pet Adoption and tell them you want to meet Ms. Ann Chovy!

Spayed Female Short Hair White w/tabby

Oh, hello! My name is Paisley. Like my brother Pauly, I am just a bit shy at first, but if you want to get me out of my shell quickly, get out the fishing pole toy. You’ll soon see a whole new kitty!

I’m also the curious type and take my role as Lead Investigator quite seriously. Something new in the house? I’m first on the scene, checking it out and making sure it’s up to standard. When I’m not busy exploring or chasing down my favorite toy, you’ll most likely find me curled up with my brother for a long, cozy nap. He’s my favorite napping partner for sure! Since I’ve never known life without my brother, I really do need another cat in my life. I’m good with dogs and kids (at least age 6).

If you’re looking for a new furry friend who is, let’s face it, an adorable busy-body, let’s get to know each other. The people at Best Friend Pet Adoption can set up a meet-and-greet with me (and my brother Pauly, if you’re into two kittens!). Just have that fishing pole toy handy!

Meet one of the Charlie Brown Puppies, Linus – a tender-hearted pup with the soul of a gentle giant and the goofy charm of a big ol’ puppy. At almost 2 years old and approx. 51 lbs, Linus is already house-trained, crate-trained, fully vetted, and ready to find a place to call home. His momma was a lab mix.

Linus may be a little shy with new people, but once you’re “his person,” he’s all in. Expect full-body wiggles, goofy grins, and endless snuggles from this loyal boy. He just needs a little patience and understanding to feel safe, and once he does, you’ll have a best friend for life.

His Story:
Linus came to BFPA as a tiny puppy. He and his litter of six had a rough start—surrendered to a rural shelter at just 2½ weeks old, they had to be bottle-fed by special fosters before moving to regular foster homes. As Linus grew he began resource guarding food and toys with other dogs (never with humans). This isn’t unusual for pups who experienced early trauma, but to help him succeed, Linus completed an 8-week positive reinforcement program.

The Perfect Home for Linus:
Linus would thrive as the only pet in a calm home with adults who understand that sometimes a pup needs space to warm up. He’s a “king of the castle” kind of guy—loyal, loving, and happiest when he can have his humans all to himself. A quieter home where he can feel secure is best.

If you believe the best relationships are built on trust and you’re ready to offer a safe, loving home to a dog who truly deserves it, Linus is waiting for you. His loyalty runs deep, his heart is big, and he just needs the right person or family to let it shine.
