Petite pup seeking a chest to lay on or the back of your recliner to share with you. Introducing Teddy, a 3-4 year old, 6 pound, Morkie (Maltese/Yorkshire Terrier cross) who has a silky-soft cream colored non-shedding coat. Teddy is a nice balance of being independent and being snuggly - he is playful and loving to his people.

One of Teddy’s favorite places to lay is on the back of his foster mom’s recliner chair. He lives happily and harmoniously in a foster home with several other small dogs; from time to time he can be a little bossy with them but is easily corrected. Teddy enjoys playing tug with toys as well as playing chase with the other dogs in the yard. He will “over-see” the other dogs’ activities throughout the day, have a good cuddle with his foster mom, and take a nap sleeping under his blanket.

Teddy has some emotional scars from the life he lived prior to rescue causing him to not initially trust people he doesn’t know, so he will a couple weeks to settle-in with his new owner to feel safe and secure. He deserves a wonderful new life; can you help his dream come true?

TEDDY

This cutie is Dixie, a 6 year old, 50 pound Pit Bull mix who is short in stature, and as sweet as pie with a little bit of spunk thrown in. Dixie loves giving kisses, really enjoys going for walks, playing with toys, and exploring and relaxing in the fenced in yard. Dixie warms up quickly to women and older children. When excited, she’ll get the zoomies and make the cutest noises. Dixie has been playful with most of the dogs in her foster home; she would be OK as the “one and only” dog in the home. She has good house manners and does not need to be crated when left alone.

Dixie came to our rescue after a neglectful owner kept her in the basement as a “breeding machine” for years. Despite that horrible existence, it did not affect her from being one of the sweetest little dogs. She will make a great addition to most households and is approved for households with children over the age of 10.

This dog has been examined by a licensed veterinarian, provided inoculations, been tested for disease, had a blood panel run (healthy), been dewormed, spayed, and microchipped. ADOPTION APPLICATIONS are available upon request at acaringplace@comcast.net

This pretty girl is GYPSY, an 18 pound, 4 year-old Red Miniature Pinscher Mix or Chihuahua Mix. Gypsy is very loving, loyal, and is sweet as can be with her family/people. Her foster mom describes her as a dog who “loves her people deeply.” Gypsy also loves being with other dogs who are similar in size to her; she absolutely LOVES playing with them and bonds with other dogs quickly.

Some of Gypsy’s favorites things: 1) laying on her foster mom’s lap for some cuddles and personal attention. 2) basking in the warmth of the sun’s rays. 3) running full tilt and playing chase with the other dogs in the backyard. And 4) playing with toys, especially with the other dogs.

Because Gypsy is selective with unknown people, she requires a calm adoptive home that doesn’t have a lot of people coming and going. Patience is the key with Gypsy. She is housebroken utilizing a good routine. Approved for adult-only households.

     ADOPTION REQUIREMENTS:
Adopter must have experience with fearful dog behavior which requires time for acclimation to new people. Gypsy requires a securely fenced yard for play time and toileting. Also, requires at least one other smaller dog in the adoptive home with whom to play and buddy.

This beautiful pup is BONNIE, a very sweet, initially shy, 3-year-old, 17 pound, spayed female, Maltese/Poodle cross. Bonnie lives in a foster home with two adults and two teens, plus a few dogs of varying sizes and ages, all with whom she gets along. She is a loving, gentle, sweet dog who wants to be with her people whenever possible. She has good house manners and is respectful. As we have gotten to know Bonnie, we have determined that she requires a calm household that has another gentle dog who can be her buddy, and where people are home more than not.

Because Bonnie's first owners didn't socialize her with other people when she was young, Bonnie is insecure meeting new people. Taking things slowly with her is essential - and it works! Once Bonnie is comfortable, she is very sweet and friendly. She enjoys going for walks but continues to display insecurity and fear of unknown people. She would benefit from continued gentle training to help her not find the world such a scary place. Bonnies foster family is taking her for short walks to help her have positive experiences.

Bonnie is housebroken. She was previously trained to use potty pads for toileting but is now trained to go outside on the grass. Bonnie really enjoys spending time in the backyard. She is a bit of a barker so she is not appropriate for apartment/condo living, nor a home with young children. This dog has been examined by licensed veterinarians, provided inoculations, been tested for diseases, dewormed, spayed, and microchipped.
