❤️ Personality & Breed Information

Arya is a beautiful 6-month-old Belgian Shepherd mix weighing approximately 20 pounds. She's a happy young puppy with a playful spirit, plenty of curiosity, and almost her entire life still ahead of her.

Arya is good with other dogs and children, while her compatibility with cats is currently unknown.

At six months old, Arya is moving into the adolescent stage of puppyhood. She's still learning about the world, developing her personality, and figuring out what is expected of her. This is a wonderful age for a family willing to put time into training, socialization, and building a strong relationship with their new dog.

As a Belgian Shepherd mix, Arya may share traits commonly associated with shepherd breeds, including being intelligent, active, attentive, loyal, athletic, and eager to learn. These dogs often thrive when they're given both physical exercise and something to keep their minds busy.

Arya would benefit from daily age-appropriate exercise, interactive toys, training games, positive socialization, and plenty of time with her people. As she grows, she'll likely enjoy having a family that includes her in walks, adventures, and everyday activities.

She's a happy puppy now, and with consistent guidance, she has wonderful potential to grow into a confident and well-rounded adult companion.

Puppy Training, Adjustment & What to Expect

Arya is still a puppy, which means her new family should expect some puppy work.

Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best. Her adopter should be prepared to continue working on house training as needed, leash manners, basic commands, recall, appropriate chewing, calm greetings, household boundaries, and positive socialization.

Because shepherd-type dogs can be intelligent and quick learners, Arya will benefit from training that keeps her engaged rather than simply tiring her out physically. Positive reinforcement, consistency, patience, and mental enrichment will help her learn what is expected of her.

The 3-3-3 Rule

3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe

3 Weeks to understand her household routine

3 Months to fully settle in, build trust, and feel at home

These are guidelines rather than deadlines. Arya should be allowed to adjust to her new family at her own pace.

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care

Arya has already received a great start with her medical care. She is spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and has received NexGard.

Her adopter will be responsible for continuing routine veterinary care, including wellness examinations, recommended vaccine boosters, ongoing flea/tick and parasite prevention, dental care, quality nutrition, nail care, and veterinary treatment whenever needed.

Because Arya is only six months old and still developing physically, exercise should remain appropriate for her age and growth. Avoid excessive repetitive jumping, forced long-distance running, or other strenuous repetitive exercise while her body is still maturing.

Her veterinarian can also review her vaccination records to determine whether any additional puppy boosters are needed.

Meet Carpió

A Friendly, Playful Little Gentleman With a Big Future Ahead!

Breed: Maremma Sheepdog Mix
Gender: Male | Age: 4 months
DOB: June 16, 2026
Weight: 7.6 kg / Approximately 16.8 lbs
Good With: Dogs ✔️ | Kids ✔️ | Cats: Unknown
Personality: Friendly | Playful | Social | Curious | Fun-Loving
Medical: Vaccinations Up to Date | Neuter Pending | Microchip: Not Provided
Location: Los Angeles, California
Transportation: Safe transportation coordinated for approved adopters throughout the United States.

❤️ Personality & Breed Information

Meet Carpió, an adorable 4-month-old Maremma Sheepdog mix weighing approximately 17 pounds! This handsome little boy has a friendly, playful personality and a whole lifetime of love and adventures waiting ahead of him.

Carpió is a happy young puppy who enjoys playing and interacting with others. His friendly nature and playful spirit make him a wonderful candidate for a family looking for a young companion to grow alongside them.

At just four months old, Carpió is still discovering the world around him. Everything is an opportunity to learn, explore, and develop confidence. With the right family, he can enjoy a childhood filled with positive experiences, fun activities, and plenty of affection.

About the Maremma Sheepdog Breed

The Maremma Sheepdog is a traditional Italian livestock guardian breed known for its loyalty, intelligence, protective instincts, independence, and devotion to its family.

Unlike some herding breeds that were developed to move livestock, Maremmas were bred to protect animals from predators. This background can influence their personalities and behavior, even in mixed-breed dogs.

As Carpió matures, he may develop some of these typical characteristics:

Loyal and devoted: Maremma mixes may form strong bonds with their families.

Intelligent and independent: They can be thoughtful dogs who benefit from patient, consistent training.

Naturally watchful: Some develop protective instincts as they mature.

Active and curious: They benefit from regular exercise, mental stimulation, and opportunities to explore.

Potentially large: Purebred Maremmas are large dogs, so Carpió may continue growing considerably, although his adult size cannot be predicted from his current weight alone.

Because Maremmas are guardian dogs, early socialization and responsible training are especially important. Carpió's future family should understand that his personality may change as he grows into adulthood.

His ideal home will be one that appreciates his playful puppy personality while also being prepared for the responsibilities of raising a potentially large, intelligent, and independent dog.

Carpió has so much potential, and the right family will help him become the wonderful companion he's meant to be.

Training, Adjustment & What to Expect

At only four months old, Carpió is still very much a puppy. His future family should be prepared for all the excitement, learning, and responsibilities that come with raising a young dog.

Rescue dogs may arrive with basic training at best, so adopters should be ready to continue working on potty training, crate training if desired, leash walking, basic commands, recall, appropriate chewing, calm greetings, household boundaries, and positive socialization.

Because Carpió is a Maremma Sheepdog mix, early training should focus on building trust, encouraging cooperation, and helping him develop confidence in different environments.

Livestock guardian breeds can be naturally independent, so positive reinforcement, patience, consistency, and clear expectations are particularly important.

Carpió should be introduced gradually and positively to different people, environments, everyday sounds, and appropriate canine companions.

His future family should also provide a secure outdoor environment. Guardian breeds may develop territorial or roaming tendencies, making proper fencing, supervision, and reliable leash handling important.

As a playful puppy, Carpió will enjoy age-appropriate activities such as short walks, interactive toys, gentle games, and training exercises.

His adopter should expect normal puppy behaviors, including occasional accidents, teething, chewing, bursts of energy, and testing boundaries.

The 3-3-3 Rule

Every rescue dog needs time to adjust to a new environment.

3 Days: Time to decompress, observe his surroundings, and begin feeling safe.

3 Weeks: Time to understand his new household routine, build confidence, and become more comfortable.

3 Months: Time to strengthen his bond with his family, settle into daily life, and begin feeling truly at home.

These are general guidelines rather than strict deadlines. Every dog adjusts at their own pace.

Carpió deserves a family who will provide patience, encouragement, structure, and reassurance as he settles into his forever home.

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care

Carpió's vaccinations are up to date, and his neutering is pending.

Because he is only four months old, his adopter should review his medical records with a veterinarian to confirm whether additional puppy vaccine boosters, deworming, flea and tick prevention, microchipping, or other preventive care are needed.

His future family should also discuss the appropriate timing of his neuter procedure with a veterinarian, particularly because Maremma Sheepdog mixes may grow into larger dogs.

As a growing puppy, Carpió will need:

High-quality puppy nutrition appropriate for his expected adult size and development.

Regular veterinary examinations to monitor growth, overall health, and vaccination needs.

Age-appropriate exercise that supports healthy development without placing excessive stress on growing joints.

Positive reinforcement training and continued socialization to encourage confidence and good manners.

Regular grooming and coat maintenance, particularly if he develops the thick double coat commonly associated with Maremma Sheepdogs.

Dental care, nail trimming, and parasite prevention throughout his life.

A safe, secure home environment with appropriate supervision and boundaries.

Because Carpió may develop into a larger dog, protecting his growing bones and joints is important. Excessive repetitive jumping, strenuous forced running, and overly demanding physical activities should be avoided during puppyhood.

Adopting Carpió is a lifelong commitment that includes the time, financial responsibility, training, veterinary care, and companionship necessary to keep him happy and healthy.
