Opal and her son Sterling have spent nearly their entire lives together.

They were once outdoor cats living behind our former shop on Main Street, where we got to know them before they eventually became part of the Revelation Gardens family. Their tipped ears are a little reminder of those outdoor-cat beginnings.

Life these days is considerably more comfortable.

Opal and Sterling are both sweet, easygoing cats with quiet personalities. They enjoy affection, being brushed and spending time with their people, but neither feels the need to be the center of attention. They&rsquo;re perfectly content to find a comfortable spot and simply enjoy the day.

Their favorite place is the catio.

Having spent part of their lives outdoors, both still appreciate fresh air, sunshine and the opportunity to watch everything happening around them. An ideal home would offer them a secure enclosed catio or similar protected outdoor space where they can enjoy that connection safely.

They&rsquo;ve also retained at least one useful skill from their outdoor days: both are accomplished mousers.

Opal and Sterling have shared a home for many years, and we would love to see them adopted together. However, we also recognize that a lifelong relationship doesn&rsquo;t necessarily mean two cats cannot thrive independently. For the right home, we would consider an individual adoption based on what seems best for each of them.

What matters most is that these two quiet, deserving cats finally have the opportunity to experience something they&rsquo;ve never really had before:


a home&mdash;and people&mdash;to call entirely their own


Opal - Bonded with Sterling

Dante and Sol are bonded sisters who have been together through everything.

They came to Revelation Gardens as kittens during an emergency evacuation of an outdoor cat colony near the local Elks Lodge. With only one day to move the colony, the rescue was chaotic and difficult. Dante and Sol were among four young kittens who made it safely to Revelation Gardens, along with one of the mother cats from the colony who was still nursing.

Here, the sisters grew up together.

Both girls are sweet, easygoing and gentle, although they remain somewhat cautious about giving their trust to people. Dante is the more outgoing of the two and has gradually become comfortable allowing more people into her world.

Sol&mdash;or 
Little Sol
, as I affectionately call her&mdash;is more timid. She may hang back, but she&rsquo;s always paying attention. Little Sol has formed a special bond with me and will often sit and watch while I do chores as I talk to her. She may not need to be in the middle of everything to be connected. Sometimes she simply wants to be nearby.

Together, the sisters enjoy quiet days, familiar friends and spending plenty of time lounging on their catio.

Dante and Little Sol aren&rsquo;t looking for someone to change them. They&rsquo;re looking for a patient home where they can stay together, settle in at their own pace and discover that there are more people in the world worth trusting.


They&rsquo;ve already chosen each other. Maybe, given a little time, they&rsquo;ll choose you too.


Dante - Bonded with Sol

Bubba and Pickle are two of the sweetest boys you could hope to meet&mdash;and these best friends are looking for a home together.

Both are mellow, affectionate cats who appreciate the finer things in life: toys, sunshine, a good brushing and, perhaps most importantly, a comfortable lap. They&rsquo;re perfectly capable of settling in for hours of attention when someone is willing to provide it.

Pickle originally came to Revelation Gardens as a kitten and was adopted, but when his family&rsquo;s circumstances changed and they could no longer keep him, he returned to us. Revelation Gardens will always be a safe place for our animals to come back to when life doesn&rsquo;t go according to plan.

Bubba has had a significant medical journey of his own. He developed a serious urinary blockage that required surgery, and thankfully he made a full recovery. Because of his history, Bubba now eats a special urinary diet to help reduce the risk of future blockages. His adopter will need to be committed to continuing that care and monitoring his urinary health.

What neither boy needs explained, though, is friendship.

Bubba and Pickle are bonded, and the home we&rsquo;re looking for is one that has room for both. They&rsquo;re gentle, loving companions who already know how good life can be when you have someone beside you.

Both boys are neutered and up to date on vaccinations.


Two sweet boys. Two warm spots in the sun. And, ideally, one very large lap to share.


Bubba - Bonded with Mr. Pickle

Flint and Major Tom couldn&rsquo;t be more different&mdash;and that may be exactly why they work so well together.

Flint is a striking, solid-gray beauty who tends to move through the sanctuary much like her name suggests: here one moment and darting away the next. She&rsquo;s sweet and curious, particularly when food is involved, but remains cautious around people and takes much of her confidence from the cats she trusts.

Her beginning helps explain some of that caution. Flint came to Revelation Gardens as a kitten during the emergency evacuation of an outdoor colony near the local Elks Lodge. She arrived with several other kittens, including her sister Ash. Sadly, Ash later got out and was found deceased.

Major Tom&rsquo;s story began behind our former shop on Main Street. The first time I saw him running away, I caught a glimpse of his back end and thought I was looking at a raccoon. He turned out to be a very large tomcat&mdash;and an extraordinarily gentle one.

Major Tom is laid-back, affectionate and wonderfully soft. He enjoys being held, sleeping in laps and occasionally offering a gentle love bite. One of my favorite things about him is his black-bottomed paws.

He&rsquo;s also become a reassuring presence among the cats around him, and Flint is particularly attached to him. She is noticeably more comfortable with people when Major Tom is nearby.

Both love spending their days on the catio, enjoying the weather and the company of their feline friends.

For Flint, Major Tom offers something especially important: confidence and security.

, and we would like these two to find their next home together.

Their ideal person won&rsquo;t expect Flint to become Major Tom. They&rsquo;ll appreciate his easy affection while giving her the time and space to build trust in her own way.


Major Tom may win you over first. Give Flint a little longer. We think she&rsquo;ll be worth the wait.


Flint - Bonded with Major Tom

Enzo and Matteo are two of the sweetest boys you&rsquo;ll ever meet.

They came to Revelation Gardens as small kittens as part of a trio. Their brother Rocco was adopted early on, while Enzo and Matteo stayed&mdash;and they&rsquo;ve been together ever since.

These boys are loving, friendly and fun. They enjoy being cuddled, playing, exploring and spending time on their catio. Enzo is outgoing and affectionate, while Matteo tends to hang back just a little when someone new arrives. Give him a little time to decide everything is okay, though, and his loving personality comes through.

Enzo also has a look that&rsquo;s entirely his own. He&rsquo;s just a little cross-eyed. It doesn&rsquo;t appear to interfere with his vision&mdash;it simply adds to an already pretty adorable face.

Enzo and Matteo were adopted together once, but their new home lasted only one night.

The boys were frightened by the sudden change. They cried, didn&rsquo;t eat and didn&rsquo;t use the litter box that first night. Their adopters decided it wasn&rsquo;t going to work and asked us to come get them before Enzo and Matteo had an opportunity to adjust.

They came home to Revelation Gardens.

Since then, we&rsquo;ve sometimes wondered whether these two simply think 
this is their home
. They&rsquo;ve grown up here. They know the routines, the people and the environment, and they&rsquo;re happy.

So we&rsquo;re not looking to disrupt their lives just so we can say they&rsquo;ve been adopted.

But we also know what wonderful companions Enzo and Matteo could be in the right home.

Their next adopter needs to understand that the first night&mdash;or even the first several days&mdash;may not show them the Enzo and Matteo we know. They may cry. They may hide. They may need extra reassurance and patience while they learn that their new surroundings are safe.

And that&rsquo;s okay.

Once given the chance to settle, there are two incredibly sweet, affectionate boys waiting to share their lives with someone.

Enzo and Matteo are bonded and will be adopted together. They are healthy, neutered and up to date on vaccinations.


They already have a home at Revelation Gardens. What we&rsquo;re waiting for isn&rsquo;t just another place for them to live&mdash;it&rsquo;s someone willing to give them enough time for a new place to become home, too.
