Meet Kiwi: The Smart, Quirky Jack Russell Mix Who Wants to Be Your Best Friend!

Senior Dogs and Friends Rescue | Arlington, WA

Are you a fan of the clever, independent, and spunky Jack Russell personality?
Meet Kiwi, a handsome 8-year-old mix
looking for a stable, loving home to settle into for good. Kiwi sadly came to Senior Dogs and Friends after his elderly owner passed away, and he is entirely ready to find a new family to protect and adore.

The Perfect Sidekick:

Kiwi is housebroken, exceptionally smart, and rarely barks! He is the ultimate work-from-home partner; he is happy to relax all day and will gladly curl up in your lap while you work or watch TV. He also absolutely loves car rides, playing fetch with his favorite ball, and chewing on his Elk antlers.

His Custom Lifestyle Profile:

The Pack:
Kiwi should be the only prince in the home or paired with sweet, small female dogs. He cannot live with male dogs, cats, or small animals due to a classic Jack Russell prey drive.

The Humans:
Kiwi does best in an adult-only home where he can take things at his own pace.

Exercise & Health:
Kiwi has some minor spine issues that cause occasional discomfort. His care is very simple to manage—he takes a daily medication and thrives on short, regular walks rather than intense hikes.

A Training Superstar:
While Kiwi used to react to other dogs on leashes when he first left the shelter, his dedicated training has paid off! He now walks calmly past other dogs every single day.

HOW TO ADOPT KIWI:

Adoption Fee:
$395.00 (Includes neuter, microchip, and all up-to-date vaccines)

Meet Cortland, a 12-week-old (as of 10/5/26) male brown and white tabby with the prettiest white "eyeliner" and a classic, striking coat. This little guy has a squeaky meow he uses to politely let you know you're not giving him enough pets. He's the perfect blend of purring affection and playful curiosity, and he's happiest with a pile of toys and a sibling to wrestle.Cortland would do best adopted with one of his littermates or alongside a playful young cat who can match his energy. He's friendly and easygoing, and he'll warm up to kids, dogs, and other cats. A home with plenty of toys and plenty of pets to go around is just what he's looking for.All of our cats come spayed or neutered, microchipped, and with their initial age-appropriate vaccinations. Kittens have an adoption fee of $200 each or $300 for a bonded pair. Kittens must be adopted in pairs unless there is another young, energetic cat in the home. If you would like to apply to be a forever home for this cat, please fill out a statement of interest at www.alternativehumanesociety.com. Unless otherwise indicated, all our cats and kittens are best suited for indoor-only life.

Animal Information: Molly Moo Cow was a last minute addition to our transport with Taillights Rescue Project. Molly won our hearts with her soft eyes, happy tail, and squishy body. She was confiscated from a property that had several other dogs, but she was hidden away in a back room. Molly passed her dog to dog testing with flying colors, and she loves everyone she meets. She is estimated to be about 2 years old and weighs 60lbs.

Foster Profile:
Molly is a lovable goofball who hasn’t met a stranger - human or dog - that she doesn’t like! What she lacks in grace, she makes up for in enthusiasm. She’s quick to ask for pets and doesn’t quite understand that she’s not a 9lb lap dog. In other words, she’s a huge cuddler and wants to be close to her people.

Molly LOVES toys and has loved learning tug. We’re currently working on an ’out’ command as we believe this will be helpful for Molly to learn in play. Molly is young and still learning that all found objects are not chew toys, so it’s best not to leave things out on the floor for now. Molly is a quick learner and has picked up on our routine without any issues. She’s crate trained, potty trained and we’re working on leash manners every day on our walks. She likes to follow us around in the house and romp around in the yard but will also happily lay down in one of the dog beds for a nap or to chew on a toy.

Molly has been great with our resident dogs. She would love to play with them if they would oblige but gets the hint when they’re not into it and gives them space. Though we believe Molly would love to have another playful dog in her future home, we also think she would do ok as an only dog.

Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV per AVMA standards, any indicated preventative care, heartworm test, microchip with lifetime registration, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization (ID 81-5101166).

Commander is all about being close to you—snuggling up or even sharing your pillow, if you’ll let him! He is a big guy, though, and sometimes he forgets just how big he is, so get ready for lots of love. On walks, Commander likes to take his time, sniffing everything and making sure everyone knows he has been there. Tug toys are his absolute favorite, and he loves a good game!
