Fray is a 4 year old pit bull terrier mixed. She was born in our rescue and was recently surrendered after being found as a stray. She was pretty nervous coming back and has been gaining some much needed confidence. She has done really well with the older resident dog that is her size and she did live in her previous home with another dog as well. She gets pretty excited when meeting new dogs so slow introductions are the key to success for her. Inside she is&nbsp;content hanging out in her crate or looking out the window checking out what is happening. She is very people friendly and loves children. She has made great strides with some basic training since she has come back to us. She is a chaser and will chase after rabbits, squirrels and even the occasional frog. She loves to give and get affection but doesn&#39;t need to be like velcro. She is a light eater, takes treats gently. She is very athletic! She is learning to catch a frisbee too! She loves to play but can be rough so if there is another playful dog they should be OK with wrestling. Fray is eager to learn and motivated with treats. This wonderful would love an active family.&nbsp;

Meet Peppermint Patti&nbsp;(aka Peppy) 

This 2-year-old energetic pittie mix is ready to leave her past behind and start her best chapter yet. Found as a stray, severely emaciated and in need of entropion surgery, Peppy&rsquo;s journey back to health has been slow and steady &mdash; and she has blossomed every step of the way. She is now up to date on vaccines, spayed, on preventatives, and learning what it truly means to feel safe, loved, and part of a family.

Peppy is currently thriving in a foster home with two children (ages 8 &amp; 6) and a 9-year-old male pit mix. She is:

✔️ Dog friendly (slow introductions are best &mdash; she gets excited and just wants to play!)
✔️ Learning her basic commands &mdash; sit, down, and off (no jumping!)
✔️ Working on polite leash manners
✔️ Crate trained and sleeps soundly in her crate at night
✔️ Good in the car
✔️ Making great progress with house-training (consistency and patience will help her continue to succeed)

Peppy may not love the cold weather, but she absolutely rocks a coat or PJs &mdash; they are her jam! She enjoys walks, chewing her bones, playing tug of war, and of course, snuggling up on the couch after a fun-filled day.

Meet&nbsp;Garcia&nbsp;

Garcia is truly a survivor. He came to us from the brink of starvation and has fought his way back to health, confidence, and purpose. Now, at just&nbsp;9 months old, he&rsquo;s ready to become the incredible dog he was always meant to be.

Garcia is a&nbsp;guardian-breed mix&nbsp;(Boerboel, Neapolitan Mastiff, Pit Bull, Cane Corso, and Rottweiler), and he carries all the traits that come with that: loyalty, intelligence, drive, and a strong desire for structure and guidance.

He has been&nbsp;training daily with @honorbrightdogtraining and Janice, and he has absolutely flourished. Garcia looks to his people for direction, learns quickly, and thrives when given a job and routine. He has&nbsp;a lot of energy to burn&nbsp;and will do best in an&nbsp;active, experienced guardian-breed home&nbsp;that understands his needs.

Garcia would love a&nbsp;large, securely fenced yard&nbsp;where he can run, play, and enjoy his beloved toys. He has done well with other dogs but would also be perfectly happy as your one-and-only. What he needs most is&nbsp;stability, consistency, and leadership.

Tofu Survived the Unthinkable &mdash; Now She&rsquo;s Ready for Her Next Chapter





Tofu survived the unthinkable.



She was found alone along a creek in Philadelphia&mdash;starved, unable to get up, and covered in pressure sores that were almost down to the bone. When she first came to us, we weren&#39;t sure what her future would look like. But Tofu had something we couldn&#39;t measure on a scale or in a medical chart: she wanted to live.



And look at her now. 






This girl is flourishing.



As she has healed and gained strength, we&#39;ve gotten to know the dog underneath all that suffering&mdash;and she is pretty incredible. We were actually surprised to discover that someone, at some point in her life, had taken the time to train Tofu. She knows her basic commands and wants to please.



Tofu has just finished a heat cycle and still has a little weight to gain before she can safely be spayed. Because of that, we are looking for a local foster-to-adopt home where she can continue to thrive while we get her to the finish line.



And when we say LOCAL, we mean it. 





We are looking for a home within approximately one hour of our veterinary offices in PA or NJ so we can continue to monitor her progress and make sure she gets everything she needs.



What we&#39;ve learned about Tofu:





She LOVES routine and does best when she knows what to expect.



About 2 years old





She knows her basic commands!





She can live with other low-energy dogs, with the proper introduction.





She will absolutely need a shutdown/decompression period when entering a new home. She has been through enough, and we don&#39;t want her coming into a new environment thinking she immediately runs the roost. 







Her biggest downfall? Counter surfing. 

But tell this girl &quot;NO&quot; and she gets it.





Tofu doesn&#39;t need someone to save her anymore.



She needs someone to finish the job.



Someone willing to give her the routine, patience, stability and love that will allow her to continue becoming the dog we always knew was hiding underneath the trauma.



She has fought incredibly hard to get here. Now we&#39;d love nothing more than to watch her flourish in a home of her own.

Meet Mabel the former puppy mill mom. This 7 year old girl lived her life in Amish Country in a kennel used for one reason and one reason only - to pump out puppies. No life for any dog. Mabel came to us filthy and shutdown. She has spent the past month in foster with other dogs and kids. She quickly came out of her shell with them and is proving to be a pretty awesome dog.



Mable is crate trained, kid friendly and dog friendly but prefers a more laid back companion. She has 

seen the cat in the home and has not cared at all. She is house broken also. She comes off shy at first but warms up and wants to be with her people.
