Meet Mimi ❤️ — She Finally Knows She’s Home

Mimi has been on quite a journey to get here.

This beautiful three-year-old Doberman mix originally came to us from Texas after she was found abandoned with a litter of puppies. She was taken in and cared for, and eventually made her way to Doberman Rescue Minnesota.

Then came the adventure that earned her the unforgettable nickname of our “world traveler.” Mimi spent some time on the run before she was finally safely captured and brought to rescue.

At the time, we knew Mimi needed something very important:

Time.

Time to decompress. Time to feel safe. Time to learn that she didn't have to keep running.

And now, after a couple of months with her foster family, something beautiful has happened.

Mimi has finally exhaled.

She feels safe.

She knows her environment. She knows her people. And she no longer feels the need to flee.

And when a dog finally feels safe enough to stop surviving, that's when you get to see who they really are.

Mimi is happy. Content. Playful. Goofy. Silly.

Her personality is coming out more and more every day, and we absolutely love watching this sweet girl blossom.

And perhaps one of the best parts?

Mimi has discovered that life with three resident boy Dobermans can be pretty darn fun!

She is happily playing with all three of her foster brothers, joining in the fun and showing off her playful side. The quiet, soft girl we first met is still there—but now we're also getting to see the silly girl, the goofy girl, the girl who wants to play and enjoy life.

This is Mimi.

Not the frightened dog who needed to escape.

Not the mama who was abandoned.

Not the girl who spent weeks wandering and trying to find her way.

Today, Mimi is a dog who is discovering that she can simply be.

She can play.

She can be silly.

She can relax.

She can trust.

She can love.

And somewhere out there is the person who will look at this sweet, goofy girl and realize that Mimi's long journey was leading her right to them.

Her traveling days are over.

Now we're looking for the final destination:

A forever home. A forever family. And, of course, a forever couch. ❤️

Mimi will be available for adoption as we continue learning more about her and what kind of home will allow her to keep thriving.

Her story isn't about where she's been anymore.

It's about where she's going.

And we think Mimi's best days are still ahead.

A physical 4' or taller fence is REQUIRED!

Meet Bug — An 11-Year-Old Gentleman With Personality to Spare!

Bug is 11 years old, and this handsome Doberman/Husky mix has perfected the art of enjoying the good life.

Affectionately called “Bugger,” he knows exactly what he likes: time outside, a comfy place to relax, his people nearby, and—most importantly—a really good neck scratch!

❤️ A Few Things to Know About Bug

Sweet & affectionate — Bug loves meeting adults and is always happy to make a new friend.

Professional snuggler — Expect a sniff, a lick, and a classic Doberman lean. And if you stop petting too soon, Bug may remind you!

Loves the outdoors — A securely fenced yard is a must. He enjoys running and exploring.

Smart guy — He knows sit, stay, lie down, off, and go to bed.

Great traveler — He rides well in the car and is wonderful at the vet, including nail trims.

Simple tastes — Give him a filled bone and he's a happy guy.

Mellow & easygoing — Bug thrives with a calm, predictable routine.

And then there's Bug's... culinary career.

This gentleman has been known to counter-surf and has even helped himself to an entire roast! His future family will need to keep food safely out of reach and the trash securely locked.

Bug's Best Match

Bug would do best in a quiet home with adults or older children 13+. Young children make him nervous, so his history and household suitability should be discussed with Doberman Rescue Minnesota.

He has lived with another dog but is not a good match for other large male dogs. Dog introductions and compatibility will need to be carefully assessed.

His previous family reported that he did well with cats, generally ignoring them or accepting their cuddles.

A securely fenced yard is required, and secure latches are important—Bug has discovered that some gates can be opened with a determined nose! His recall when loose is unreliable.

Bug is house-trained and comfortable in a gated area. He isn't comfortable in a crate and hasn't used one in years. He also has mild separation anxiety that will benefit from continued patience and support.

Why Bug?

Because sometimes the best dogs aren't looking for a million adventures.

They're looking for a soft place to land.

A yard to explore.
A comfy bed.
A person to lean against.
A filled bone.
And someone who understands that dinner should never, ever be late.

At 11 years old, Bug has plenty of love left to give—and plenty of personality to share.

If you're looking for a distinguished gentleman with a soft heart, a mischievous streak, and an excellent appreciation for neck scratches, Bug just might be your guy. ❤️

Anna is a big personality wrapped in a petite package! Now around 3 years old, this sweet girl was found as a stray and has been blossoming in her foster home ever since. Naturally a bit skittish, Anna is still full of love, joy, and affection once she warms up. She’s playful, loyal, and always ready for some fun—especially if it involves fetch, walks, or zooming around the yard with her foster siblings!

Anna is especially fond of snuggling up next to her foster mom during quiet reading time, making her the perfect mix of playful energy and cozy companionship.

She’s already learned several commands like sit, spin, turn, wait, leave it, take it, and has a strong recall. She’s currently working on heel, down, front, shake, and stay, and she regularly offers up new behaviors for things she loves—like food, walks, and games! With her eagerness to learn and strong drive, she’d likely thrive in activities like scent work or obedience training.

Anna is great with small caged animals (she’s been tested around guinea pigs, rats, mice, a bearded dragon, and a leopard gecko), and she adores children and adults once she feels safe. However, she’s still a little cautious with strangers and unfamiliar situations, so she’ll need a patient and understanding home to help her continue building confidence. Respecting her space and providing positive reinforcement are key to helping her thrive. She is opening up more and more lately and her confidence is growing.

Anna has a high prey drive—she loves to chase birds and squirrels—so a secure, 6-foot privacy fence is a must, as she can easily jump lower ones. She’ll also need to be walked with a slip lead or martingale collar to keep her safe. So no cats. She is ok with tolerant males but sometimes gets a little pushy.

She is crate trained, house trained, and loves her kennel—it’s her go-to safe space when she’s feeling overwhelmed. She’s incredibly affectionate, often bringing her people little “treasures” like the adorable trash panda she is. She’s always up for a task but is just as content relaxing on her own.

Health Note:
Anna has chronic allergies that cause occasional ear and skin infections. These are easily managed with regular care, especially routine ear cleaning.

Anna is a joyful, silly, sweet soul who brings light wherever she goes. Her Doberman smile and happy tail wags are the perfect way to start any morning. If you're looking for a loyal companion with lots of love to give—and are ready to help her continue on her journey—Anna might just be your perfect match.

Please consider giving Anna the loving forever home she deserves!
