We first spotted&nbsp;Louie out in the old barn, and he would run off everytime we tried to approach him. He had blood around his neck and looked a bit thin. Thankfully we were able to leave food for him, and we watched him eat from a distance. We eventually live trapped Louie and off to the vet he went to be neutered, vaccinated, tested and treated for parasites. He had multiple bite wounds around his neck which were cleaned up and treated.

Today, Louie has made progress,&nbsp;and we are able to get close to him in his enclosure, but still are not able to touch him. We have taught Louie to eat in a cat crate (for when we have to catch him to take him to the vet) and he will play with toys, always uses his litter box and&nbsp;enjoys the company of the other cats here at the sanctuary. Louie loves to sit on his perch, inside, and watch the birds and play in his tunnel.

He talks to us, especially during feeding times, and seems to enjoy our company. Louie will require a very special home - someone with patience and a calm environment.

Hello - my name is Pebbles, and I was found in a barn as a little kitten with my brother Bam Bam. We both were brought to the sanctuary as young adults. I tend to be very shy, and I do not want to be held or petted very much, but everyone says I have THE most beautiful eyes!&nbsp; I will show affection and will rub against my people&#39;s leg and get scratched when it is dinner time! My BFF here at the sanctuary is Sir Hiss-A-Lot (he is the handsome orange guy), and we would like to be adopted together. Sweet Rocco had been living at&nbsp;a local land fill for over a month! He was&nbsp;terrified&nbsp;and would run away when people tried to help him -&nbsp;no one could catch him. We borrowed a live trap, and within two days the little guy was caught. Rocco is&nbsp;safe here with us, and he has come along way since the day we rescued him a number of years ago. Rocco has generalized fear and anxiety which will show as &quot;aggression&quot; if not handled properly.&nbsp;He has met new people and dogs and&nbsp;is&nbsp;gaining confidence, but he still needs&nbsp;slow introductions to new dogs, and when strangers&nbsp;visit the house he must be slowly introduced in a positive way.&nbsp;Rocco is a petite little guy (around 45-50 ponds) who is house trained and loves to &quot;go with&quot; on any excursion. He listens well, loves to play with squeaky toys, and has&nbsp;completed his basic obedience training class. During vet visits he wears his muzzle and does best with minimal restraint. Rocco has really bonded with us, and&nbsp;it appears as though he has some separation anxiety - his family is the most&nbsp;precious thing&nbsp;in his life - more important than food, water or comfort. Rocco&nbsp;does not want to be, and he currently cannot be, left alone&nbsp;-&nbsp;he has climbed six foot tall fences to find us. We have worked with a professional trainer, Casey McGee of Upward Hound Dog Training,&nbsp;on his anxiety issues and he has responded well, but he will require additional time and training.&nbsp;Rocco can improve significantly&nbsp;with proper training and medication, but he needs understanding, compassion, patience and trust.&nbsp;Rocco would do best in a quiet home with&nbsp;a family&nbsp;who will be&nbsp;dedicated to working with our&nbsp;trainer who will guide&nbsp;them through a program to help Rocco. Nettie is by far one of the sweetest cats we have had in our program!

She showed up as a stray here at the sanctuary and proceeded to lay down next to us as we worked on the lawn mower. No one claimed Nettie&nbsp;as their own so we took her to the vet for full examination, vaccinations, testing, parasite protection and when she was in for her spay&nbsp;surgery it was discovered that she had already been spayed! There was no spay scar or tattoo that could be seen prior to surgery.

We are happy to report that Nettie got a clean bill of health and is in a foster home and doing great!

She enjoys her days napping in the sunshine, on her foster mom&#39;s lap or playing with her banana toy!

Even though Nettie has soft beds, couches and chairs to lounge on, her number one fav spot is&nbsp;on top of a plastic tote bin! She is a pretty chill little feline...

Nettie lives with a very calm, senior dog and she keeps her distance from the canine and has never shown any bad behavior.

She is very food motivated so watch out where you keep her food!

Other than that, according to Nettie&#39;s foster mom, Nettie is the perfect house guest and would make a wonderful companion!&nbsp;

 is Sir Hiss-a-lot, and yes... I hiss a lot...at people. I love my cat friends here at the sanctuary, but not so fond of the 2-legged giants here. I showed up at the sanctuary on a cold winter day. I sat shivering in the old barn and when I &quot;talked&quot; to the 2-legged giant I eventually got some food!! I knew there were other cats here, but I couldn&#39;t get into their building. I just hung around and in no time flat - bam! I was in a live trap, whisked away to the vet and then back to the sanctuary and finally...I got to go in where the other cats were. I am very happy now with my cat friends. 



Sir Hissy is a good boy, probably just very scared, and he is more &quot;talk/hiss&quot; than bite. He is a great resident here - eats his food and uses his litter box and never picks a fight. He just doesn&#39;t want&nbsp;much to do with people. His BFF here at the sanctuary is Pebbles, and they need to be adopted together.
