We think Rosie is a blue heeler/german shepherd mix based on her character traits and looks. She was pulled from a shelter in Bedford County VA where she was brought in as a stray, so we don&rsquo;t know anything about her history. Rosie is slow to warm up to people and other dogs but she&rsquo;s is a complete love bug once she is won over. She has a high prey drive and can be difficult to recall when she sees a squirrel or deer to chase after.&nbsp;

Rosie is a medium energy dog. While she is happy to lay around and play with her toys, I wouldn&rsquo;t recommend her with smaller children, as sometimes she can be a bit rough. My child is a very dog savvy 5 year old and they do well together. Rosie is crate and potty trained. She walks well on a leash.

She is approx 2 years old, 50 lbs, UTD on vaccines, microchipped, and on preventatives. She has not been cat tested, but I don&rsquo;t think she would do well with them just judging by her prey drive. She does well with other dogs that we&rsquo;ve met on walks and I think slow introductions would be needed for resident dogs. My male Weimaraner does not like Rosie and has not adjusted to having her here, but it&rsquo;s not for lack of her trying to be his friend.&nbsp;

Meet Bandit! Bandit is a 3 year old, 47 pound Australian Cattle Dog. This handsome boy is simply the best!

&nbsp;

Bandit will need a home with ACD or similar breed experience, as he is a very high energy boy and needs to work on how to appropriately communicate with people. More info on this below.

Bandit currently lives with 3 other cattle dogs and gets along perfectly with them. He loves to play, but is respectful of their boundaries. He does have a bit of a rowdy play style which may overwhelm some dogs.

&nbsp;

Bandit walks well on leash and is working on his basic obedience skills. He is house trained and crate trained. Bandit is excellent in the car for short and long trips! He has been to pet friendly stores and was well behaved for those outings. He is learning to settle in the house after exercise, playtime, or training sessions.

We think Bandit would love to be a sport dog, he has so much energy and enthusiasm. He is trying FastCAT, Barn Hunt, and Agility with his foster family.

Bandit can be very mouthy and will playfully grab at arms and clothing. He is not doing this to be mean, he just doesn&rsquo;t understand the best way to communicate yet. We offer him a toy to redirect him when he tries to grab us.

Ivy is a wildly sweet and busy 8yo ACD. Her motto is &quot;can&#39;t stop, won&#39;t stop&quot; and she lives to do all the things, all at once. She&#39;s food motivated to learn and loves to play Ball on her terms (the squeakier and bouncier the better, and more than 1 at a time). Ivy&#39;s overall excitement for life makes her impulse control skills a bit foggy and sometimes turns off her listening ears. For her safety she needs a home dedicated to keeping her on leash or in a securely fenced in yard. Ivy is dog friendly, but is dog wary. She doesn&#39;t believe other animals (human or dog) want personal space and gives off an energy vibe most dogs don&#39;t want to be around. She once lived with another dog that didn&#39;t tolerate her zest for life and told her frequently she needed to control herself. After a few disagreements about their differing opinions Ivy&#39;s developed resentment towards being told what to do by other dogs (even when she is the one being inappropriate). Therefore any future housemates of Ivy&#39;s need to be fully accepting of her commitment to her lifestyle. Ivy thinks all other animals that move are for chasing and biting (naturally). She will not live peacefully in a home with cats or other small pets. Ivy currently lives the farm life, but she&#39;s not a farm-friendly dog. She thinks chickens would make a great snack if she had the chance to taste them as well as the other farm animals.


Ivy is crate trained and retreats to her safe space when she&#39;s ready for a good chewy bone, a carrot, a stuffed kong, or to curl up and rest from a busy day of being Ivy. Ivy is house trained but should never be left unattended because she is bound to get herself into trouble conducting quality control tests on all the inner springs of the couch or performing a thread count on the bed sheets. She needs humans to make good choices for her in situations where she cannot. Ivy lives with kids but is not trusting or appropriate for all humans great and small. She needs to be managed in situations and situations also need to be managed for her to be safe and successful with new people and in new places.


Ivy will benefit from a home savvy about the typical mannerisms of herding dogs and more specifically ACDs, but she&#39;ll need even a bit more than most. Since her life experiences with other dogs, people, and the vet have left a lasting impression that can evoke fear and sometimes reactivity, she needs a calm, gentle leader she can trust, that sets realistic expectations and boundaries and fairly upholds those. Ivy can be a chatterbox, she yips when she&#39;s happy, she whines when she&#39;s worried, and she barks when all other things exist in the world. Therefore she needs to live in a home that doesn&#39;t have neighbors that can&#39;t appreciate her communication skills. If you&#39;re looking to put in a dogs-life-time of work for the reward of slobbery-licks, head-butts, snoot-boops, finger-nibbles and to work out at least 1 good throwing arm a day, then Ivy would like to hear from you!

Hi New Friends!!&nbsp;&nbsp;

My name is Sasha (AKA Mama dog).&nbsp; Foster mom sometimes calls me mama dog; as I have already had my first litter of puppies, six beautiful babies who have already found new homes because they are so sweet and adorable!&nbsp; But let me tell you, they get their sweetness from ME!&nbsp; Let me tell you my story first and then we can talk more about ME, as it&#39;s all about ME!&nbsp; I found myself in a very noisy shelter as my previous owner surrendered me when she suspected I was pregnant.&nbsp; Not my fault at all, there were a lot of wandering dogs in our neighborhood!&nbsp; Not very many people want to adopt a pregnant dog, and my time was running out.&nbsp; The shelter was getting ready to euthanize me when I started to go into labor, so they reached out to ACDRA to see if they could help.&nbsp; As my foster mom is from NY and I was in GA, I went to a vet clinic to give birth to my six little ones.&nbsp; As soon as it was safe to privately transport me to NY, my babies and I hit the road.&nbsp; My babies are weaned and moving on out and I was able to get spayed two weeks ago and now that I am&nbsp; 
fully healed and back to my very playful self,&nbsp;

&nbsp;mom says it is time for me to find a family!&nbsp; She loves home a lot; but she knows there is someone else out there who has been waiting for me!&nbsp; I am about 1.5 years old, and am a really good size at 34 pounds.&nbsp; Let me tell you all the good things about me!&nbsp; I am living with eight other adult dogs and have figured out who likes to play and who I should leave alone (between you and I the deafie is CRABBIE).&nbsp; I am good with kids and all adults who will rub my belly or cuddle me.&nbsp; I love stuffies and can easily entertain myself with a tennis ball for a good half hour or more.&nbsp; I really like exploring in the woods and I find squirrels very intriguing so cats may not be a good plan for me.&nbsp; Mama says I am a very good girl as I never have an accident in the house!&nbsp; Now a couple of things that mama says are not so good but easily correctable, I like shoes!&nbsp; I don&#39;t chew them, I just like to carry them and if there is a random paper towel laying around, I feel the need to shred it.&nbsp; In true cattle dog fashion, I like to use my mouth a bit to get you moving when I am excited to get outside and go for a walk.&nbsp; Mama says pulling on her shirt hem, will not make her go faster!&nbsp; I walk nicely on a leash and I am crate trained although mama hasn&#39;t put me in one very much as she is home all day with me.&nbsp; I sleep very nicely at night on a dog bed in her room and sometimes I get up into bed for a good snuggle!&nbsp; Mama says I am a very active girl, but I do have an off switch and will settle nicely while you watch a good movie or have to do dreaded chores!&nbsp; Now, don&#39;t I sound like just the perfect girl???&nbsp; Foster mom says if you would like more information or have any questions about me, hit her up by emailing&nbsp;mrulffes@gmail.com

Meet Coco &ndash; What an adorable cattle dog mix!
She is an energetic dog who loves to play with other dogs and is also able to auto-
entertain. Because she is a puppy, sometimes she auto-entertains with your shoes! She
is learning to play ball and tug o&rsquo; war with humans and enjoys a good snuggle once she
gets sleepy. She loves being outdoors exploring.
She is learning so much each day. She is learning to come when called, sits for treats
and is housebroken. Coco is learning agility!! So far she has the jump and the tunnel
down. She walks on a leash, sleeps all night in a crate with no messes and even puts
herself to bed in her crate.
She is reactive to cats, so a home without cats would be best.

and tick medicine as well as heartworm preventative. She is being fostered on the mid coast of Maine.
