Age:
2½ years old
Breed:
Doberman Mix
Location:
CAAR Rescue
Status:
Ready for Adoption!

Hi there! I’m
Cohen
—a lovable, loyal, and laid-back pup with a heart full of love and a tail that never stops wagging. I’ve been with the rescue since I was just 3 months old, and now I’m all grown up and dreaming of a forever home. Could that be with you?

Why You’ll Love Me:

Sweet & Social:
I’m gentle, affectionate, and get along great with kids, adults, and other dogs. I’m the quiet type—rarely bark, but always ready to snuggle.

Smart & Eager to Learn:
I’m a fast learner and super smart! I haven’t lived in a house before, so I’ll need a little help with house training—but I’m ready to learn and eager to please.

Adventure Buddy:
Whether it’s a walk in the park, a road trip, or just hanging out in the yard, I’m happiest when I’m by your side.

Family-Oriented:
I came to the rescue with my brothers—two have already found their homes. My brother and I are still waiting. Maybe you’ve got room for two?

Curious About Cats:

I haven’t met any cats yet, so I’m not sure how I’d do—but I’m open to new experiences!

Health & Wellness:

I’m
neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated
—healthy and ready to go!

Meet Valkarie — But You Can Call Me Valorie!

Hi there! I’m Valkarie—though my friends call me Valorie—and I’m here to tell you exactly why I should be your new adventure buddy, water‑splashing partner, and all‑around best girl. I’m about six years old, spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, and currently living my best temporary life at Central Arizona Animal Rescue while I wait for the human who says, “Yep. That’s my dog.”

Let me tell you… I’ve had quite the journey. I don’t remember much about my early years, but I do know I landed at animal control in Yuma at the end of 2024. Someone adopted me (good choice!), but somehow—don’t ask me how, I’m a dog, I don’t keep receipts—I ended up back at animal control at the end of 2025. Life happens, I guess. But I’m not the type to dwell on the past. I’m all about forward momentum, tail wags, and whatever fun thing is happening next.

And speaking of fun… do you like water? Because I LOVE water. No, seriously. If there is a hose anywhere within a mile radius, I will find it. I will chase it. I will bite it. I will win. The volunteers here learned that the hard way—turn your back for one second while cleaning my kennel and CHOMP, there goes another hose. What can I say? A girl’s gotta have hobbies.

I should probably mention that I have one cloudy eye. Maybe I can’t see well out of it. Maybe I can’t see at all. Hard to say. But does it slow me down? Absolutely not. I run, jump, splash, chase, and play like I’ve got perfect vision and a full calendar of things to do. I’m a shepherd, after all—built for action, purpose, and enthusiasm.

I’ve also recently acquired a boyfriend. He’s handsome, he’s fun, and we love to play chase together. But let’s get one thing straight: I do not share my dinner. I’m a lady, not a saint.

When it comes to people, I’m friendly, but I’m also a shepherd through and through. That means I like to get to know you before I decide you’re worth listening to. Once I do, though? I’m loyal, attentive, and ready to be your partner in crime (the legal kind, of course).

Now, let’s talk about what I need. I’m not a couch‑potato dog. I’m not a “one walk a day and then nap for 12 hours” dog. I’m a “let’s go, let’s do things, let’s explore, let’s play, let’s learn, let’s MOVE” dog. If you want a companion who keeps life exciting, I’m your girl. If you want a dog who chills quietly while you binge TV all weekend… yeah, that’s not me.

We don’t know if I’m house‑trained. We don’t know how I feel about cats. But given my energy level and drive, I’ll probably do best in a home without them. I’m a working‑minded dog with a zest for life, and I need a human who appreciates that.

So… what do you think? Ready to meet a dog who will make you laugh, keep you active, splash you with water, and love you with her whole heart?

If you’d like to meet me—Valkarie, Valorie, Queen of Hoses, Destroyer of Boredom—send an email to mike@caaronline.org. I’ll be here, waiting for my forever person. Maybe that’s you.

Hi there!
My name’s Nick—yes, like “Saint Nick,” though I am more tail wags than toy bags. I am about 20-25 pounds of love, fluff, and mystery lineage. Think labrador charm with the build of a corgi on casual Friday. Me and my brother Skipper were recently surrendered to the pound by our previous owner. The people here at Central Arizona Animal Rescue do not know why they did that to us. I am learning how to get along without my brother and to tell the truth, it is a little scary without him, but if I am ever going to find a cozy corner in someone's heart to call my own I will need to do that by myself.
Here is the thing: I did not grow up around many people, so I am what they call “a little shy.” But give me a minute (and maybe a piece of cheese?), and I will be following you around like we have been besties since belly rubs were invented. Cameras freak me out—I know, I know, I am cute, but I prefer to be admired in real life rather so I made it hard for the folks here to get really great photos of me.
A few facts about me:
I am neutered, vaccinated, and microchipped—basically ready for a lifetime commitment
I get along well with other dogs so if you have another dog that would be awesome!
House-trained? Probably but I might need a little refresher training when I get to my new home.
You might ask, what about cats? Well, that is unknown territory, but I am open to negotiations. My previous owners did not leave any clues and there are none here at the rescue to really be able to find out with.
If you have got patience, a comfy couch, and a pocket full of treats, I have got love, loyalty, and some very expressive ears to offer.
Wanna meet me? Email mike@caaronline.org to set up a date—I promise to be awkwardly adorable..
With hopeful paws we will meet soon

Summer was surrendered to us because the owner was moving out of state. He/She is going to be big and will dig a burrow so you must be prepared for that. They are very strong you will need to secure them, or they will escape. These guys make awesome easy to take care of pets in the right situation.
